What's the difference between

Maximum Size of Aggregates

and

NOMINAL Maximum Size of Aggregates?

The difference is only one word: Nominal.

Maximum Size of Aggregates refers to the smallest sieve opening through which the entire amount of aggregates is REQUIRED to pass.

Whereas,

Nominal Maximum of Aggregates refers to the smallest sieve opening through which the entire amount of aggregates is PERMITTED to pass.

So, if 100% passed 37.5mm sieve, and 95-100% passed 25mm sieve:

Maximum Size of Aggregates: 37.5mm

Nominal Maximum Size of Aggregates: 25mm

Talk about the power of one word.....
